How to use this online compass
- Open this page on your phone (desktops usually lack a compass sensor).
- Tap Start Compass — on iPhone, tap Allow when asked for motion access.
- Hold the phone flat, screen facing up. The dial rotates so the red needle points North, and your heading shows in degrees.
- If readings seem off, wave the phone in a figure-8 for a few seconds to calibrate.

First, go to your device settings and turn on Location, then follow these steps:
